Mary Ross Shearin January 4, 1926 – November 16, 2007 On November 16, 2007, Mary Ross Shearin peacefully entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, while surrounded by her beloved family. Graveside services will be held Monday, Nov. 19, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday November 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. in the main sanctuary at First Baptist Church, 1707 San Jacinto, Dallas, TX 75201. She was born on January 4, 1926 to Queenie V and William Henry Beazley in Waco, Texas. She graduated from Baylor University in the Centennial class of 1945 and in 1947, married her college sweetheart and devoted husband of 51 years, George Laverne Shearin. Mary Ross is survived by her children, Susan and Mike Trull, Ginny and George Shearin, Kay and Bill Shearin and Camme and Joe Shearin. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she absolutely loved and adored, Livi and Michael Trull, Mary Elizabeth Hopkins, Ross Trull, George L. Shearin IV, Emily Shearin, Sam Shearin, Katie Shearin, Leslie Shearin, Bill Shearin, Jr., Camilla Grounds, Anna Shearin and Travis Shearin. Her surviving brothers and sisters include Bill Beazley, Betz and Del McGee, Nina and Bob Beazley and Gloria Logue. Mary Ross’ extended family consisted of numerous cousins, nieces and nephews as well as scores of precious and loyal friends. Whether giving the early morning devotional on KAAM-770 AM, praying with and for her family, teaching and serving at First Baptist Dallas, working diligently for various charitable organizations or just enjoying a conversation with a neighbor, friend or even a stranger Mary Ross’ life was a living testimony in both word and deed of the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.
