Mary Virginia Pearcy October 2, 1930 March 1, 2015 Mary Virginia Pearcy went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday March 1, 2015, at 6:45 p.m. in Round Rock Texas. Services will be 1:00 p.m., Monday March 9, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Dale Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday March 8, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd, Waco, Texas. Mary was born on October 2, 1930 in Mart, Texas, to Eddie & Lillian Dollens. She graduated from Mart High School in 1948 and continued her education at Rice University. Coming from a small town and with limited resources, she faced many obstacles. However with courage and resiliency, Mary graduated from Rice in 1952 with a degree in accounting. Upon graduation, she worked as an accountant in the oil and gas industry. She married Ollie Earl Pearcy in 1955 and enjoyed a loving 56-year marriage. Mary devoted her life to being a dedicated wife, mother and educator. Later in life, she returned to college and earned her teaching certificate from Baylor University. She taught 7th and 8th grade math at St. Mary's Catholic School from 1983, until her retirement in 1993. During their retirement, Mary & Ollie enjoyed traveling with the Bosque River Sams Club, where they formed many close-knit friendships. Mary modeled her life after Christ's teaching and placed others' needs before her own. She gave tirelessly with humility and compassion. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie, in 2011; her parents; brothers, Ed, Kurt, Clyde, Dean, and Ray Dollens and sister, Ethel Proctor. She is survived by sons, Mark A. Pearcy of Denver, Colorado, David R. Pearcy and wife, Carol, of Ada, Michigan, Steven L. Pearcy and Melanie of Denver, Colorado, and Kevin L. Pearcy and wife, Emily, of Round Rock, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Emma, Anna, Jason, Paige, Brooke, Jonathan, Alex, Trevor, Braden, Rene, Madilynn and Nathan; and many nephews and nieces. Pallbearers will be her sons and nephews. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial gift to the Jones School of Business at Rice University in honor of Mary Virginia Pearcy.
