July 28, 1922 — June 8, 2003

MARY PATTON Mary M. Patton, 80, of China Spring ran her final race on Sunday, June 8, 2003, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 10 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Melvin Dornak officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Monday, June 9 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Patton was born July 28, 1922 to Charles and Emily Wagner in Shiner, Texas. She married her husband of 57 years, Walter R. Pat Patton, Jr. on January 12, 1946. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Waco. She and Walter owned and operated a dairy for over 20 years in the China Spring area. Mary had many interests. She was an avid bowler, studied and practiced reflexology and was a member of the China Spring Civic Club. She loved sewing, cooking, quilting, gardening and being with her grandchildren and family. She touched many lives in various ways. Mary was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Julia Black and husband George, Betty Shotwell and husband Rick and Janie Walker and husband Jimmy, all of China Spring; six grandchildren, Elaine De Los Santos and husband Jimmy, Paul Stanford and wife Peggy, Missy Stried and husband Kyle, Michael Stanford and wife Alyce, Randy Mathews and wife Diana and Bryan Smith and wife Karrie; four step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; sister, Gladys Lieskovsky of Loveland, Colorado; two brothers, Al Wagner and wife Joyce and Ed Wagner and wife Janelle, all of Halletsville, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Paul Stanford, Randy Mathews, Bryan Smith, Jimmy De Los Santos, Kyle Stried and Ronnie Wagner. Special thanks to Dr. Lawrence Canning, Dr. TwilaDwan Lovett, nurses and staff on the 7th floor of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center, Hillcrest Hospice and Regent Care of Woodway.
