Maximina Salazar October 31, 1925 - March 25, 2008 Maximina 'Mina' Salazar, a short time resident of Moody, Texas, and a long resident of Laredo, TX, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, in her home, from complications of lung cancer, and was surrounded by her three daughters. Services will be at 1:30 pm Friday, March 28, at St. Francis Catholic Church with the Father Roman Burrgos, celebrant. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation begins at 6 p.m. with Rosary at 7 pm, Thursday, March 27, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Maximina was born October 31, 1925, in Santa Maria, Mexico, to Blas and Ernestina Salazar. Maximina was a devout Roman Catholic. Her fondest memories included being employed by Congregation Agudath Achim for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 13 other brothers and sisters. She is survived by sons Rolando Alvarez and wife, Lucia, Hammond, IN; Dr. Samuel Cruz and wife, Celia, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; Jesus Cruz and wife, Lupe, San Luis Potosi, Mexico; daughters, Maria Elias and husband, Joe, of Waco; Nancy Sowell and husband, Mike, of Moody, TX; Gina Zaslov and husband, David, Los Angeles, Ca; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
