Maydelle C. Wilson Maydelle Connor Wilson, 85, of Waco passed away at her home on May 14, 2002. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Friday, May 17 at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church, with Rev. Tom Robbins and Rev. Art Torpy officiating. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, Texas 76710 Maydelle was born on April 2, 1917, in Daingerfield, Texas, where she was reared and educated. She attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1934 to 1938, earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. She married James Reed Wilson on October 17, 1938. She moved to Waco in 1946 after her husband was released from active duty with the United States Army following five years of service during World War II. Maydelle was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and longtime member of Austin Avenue United Methodist Church. She served in many leadership roles in her church, including Sunday School teacher, member of the Administrative Board, Friendship Class, and many community service programs. For many years she was very active in the Waco Historic Foundation, Waco Symphony Council, Coterie Club, Galaxy Club, Bards, and several social groups, including Wednesday Bridge Club and Tuesday Bridge Club. Survivors include her husband, James R. Wilson, of Waco; son, Dr. James R. Wilson and his wife Mary Elizabeth Wilson of Cary, North Carolina; daughter, Katharine Wilson Deem and her husband James Lee Deem of Dallas; grandchildren, Kate Elizabeth Wilson and Anna Christine Wilson; and brother, Curtis Edward Connor of Daingerfield, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Austin United Methodist Church, Hillcrest Community Hospice, or your favorite charity. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
