Maynard Lawrence Miller, Sr. April 14, 1930 - November 19, 2010 Maynard Lawrence Miller, Sr. of Waco passed away Friday, November 19, 2010. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Cogdell United Methodist Church, 1201 W. Hwy. 6 at Bosque Boulevard, with the Dr. Stephen Lankford and Rev. Doug Blackford officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Maynard was born April 14, 1930 in Slainsville, West Virginia to Francis and Fannie Miller. He graduated from Shinnston High School in Shinnston W.V. and received his pharmacy degree from the University of Texas at Austin. He was a pharmacist in Waco at Heights Pharmacy, owned Clinic Pharmacy and worked the past 20 years at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center Pharmacy. Maynard was an active member of Cogdell United Methodist Church in Waco since 1960. He was also a founding member of the Brazos Valley Wood Turners Association. He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Fannie Miller; brother, Merl Miller; sister, Janice Turco. He is survived by his wife Linda Miller of Waco, TX; daughter, Kathy Tipton and husband John of Waco, TX; son, Larry Miller and wife Lyn of Katy, TX; four grandchildren, Holly Christian and husband Andrew of Waco; David Tipton of the United States Air Force Academy, Kelly Miller and Kara Miller of Katy, TX; three brothers, Maurice Miller and wife, Peggy of Virginia; Renick Miller and wife, Wanda of Virginia and Mitchell Miller of Florida; sister-in-law Doris Gage of Lufkin, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Cogdell United Methodist Church or Caritas.
