MELVIN LITTLE Melvin Little, 86, of Waco, died Sunday, May 12, 2002 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 10:00AM, Tuesday, May 14 at Western Heights Baptist Church, 6301 Bosque Blvd. with Chaplain Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00PM Monday at WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mr. Little was born on April 16, 1916 in Axtell, Texas to James Monroe and Laura Etta Little. Mr. Little was raised in Waco and attended Waco public schools. He married Effie Lorene Skelton on June 16, 1941 in Belton, Texas. Mr. Little worked for Southland Corporation as a convenience store manager and trainer in Waco and Houston. He retired in Waco after forty years of service. He was an active member of the IOOF, Rebecca Lodge and Western Heights Baptist Church for many years. Mr. Little was preceded in death in 1995 by a granddaughter Tonya Culverhouse. Survivors: wife Lorene of Waco; daughter Carol Shine & husband Robert of Belton; son Larry Little & wife Mary of Bruceville; 3 grandchildren, Tammy Clark, Larissa McLean, Jennifer Rodriguez; 6 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews including Billy Joe Williams of Waco. Pallbearers will be members of Oddfellows Lodge #137. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hillcrest Community Hospice or your charity of choice. WILKIRSON-HATCH-BAILEY
