Mike Torres December 12, 1965-October 22, 2005 Mike Torres, Jr. beloved husband, father, son and brother returned home to his Heavenly Father Saturday, October 22, 2005. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lawrence Solar officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his father, Mike Torres, Sr. Mike is survived by his wife of 15 years, Nanette Marie Torres; daughter, Holly Elena Torres; mother, Carmen DeLeon Torres; sister, Patti Torres and her husband, Willie of Waco; and brothers, Joe and his wife, Armelinda, of Fort Worth, and Johnny and Mark Torres and mother-in-law, Helen M. Martinez, all of Waco, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins and friends. Mike was born December 12, 1965 to Carmen and Mike Torres, Sr. He attended Reicher High School where he graduated in 1985. He graduated from Texas State Technical College in Commercial Art Advertising and Integrated Digital Image 1988. In 1988, he met his love Nanette Marie Montoya; they were married at St. Frances Catholic Church on September 22, 1990. On December 13, 2000, they were blessed with their precious daughter, Holly, whom he adored. Mike was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Mike was currently employed by TSTC as Department Chair of Digital Media and Design. Mike loved his job and everyone he came in contact with. He will be missed by his peers, coworkers and the many students who came to know and love him. Mike was a friend to everyone he met. He will be remembered as a kind and generous person who never met a stranger. The memory of his love and generosity, his beautiful smile and open heart will forever be a part of us. Our family would like to thank everyone who came to see Mike at the hospital; if he could have, he would have gotten up and hugged each and every one of you. So when he comes to mind, know that he loves you. Pallbearers will be Joe Torres, Manuel Bravo, Jr., Richard Bravo, Henry Bravo, Ted DeLeon, Jr., Rod Serrano, Mark Ruiz, Casey Jones, and Cecilio Acosta. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Torres, Mark Torres, Daniel Ramirez, Rudy Garcia, Jr., Joe Bravo, Jesse Martinez, and Paul Reyes.
