Mildred Mcgee Verley

VERLEY, MILDRED Mildred McGee Verley, age 87, of Waco died Tuesday, December 3, 2002 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1pm Saturday, December 7 at Richfield Christian Church with Rev. David Story officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Friday, December 6 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Verley was born July 27, 1915 in Dallas to Albert G. and Lucy Maynard McGee. She graduated from Waco High in 1933. She married Leroy Mitchell Mike Verley April 21, 1949. He preceded her in death February 18, 1988. She was executive secretary at Ashland Oil Company in Houston for many years. Mrs. Verley was a member of Richfield Christian Church. She was active in Meals On Wheels and Bible Study Classes. She was an accomplished author and poet and had several of her pieces published nationally. She also enjoyed oil painting. Mrs. Verley was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Chal, Edward, Marshall, and Cecil McGee and sisters, Oma Star and Dolores Barr.
