Mildred Oneta Goerdel August 24, 1917-November 12, 2005 Mildred Goerdel went to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2005. Graveside services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 19, at Waco Memorial North Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Skinner officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 PM Friday, November 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Mildred was born August 24, 1917, in Purmela, Texas, to John and Maudie Bell Lilljedahl. She held an Associate in Science degree from John Tarleton Agricultural College and both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in Education from Baylor University. She was a Waco ISD teacher for 33 years. Mildred was a member of First United Methodist Church of Waco and the Odell Dudley Sunday School Class. She was also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma honorary teachers' sorority. Her gift of music touched many lives. She continued to play her piano and lead a choir for fellow residents at Rosemont Assisted Living in Kingwood, Texas, until shortly before her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 52 years, Ruben A Goerdel; infant son, R.A. Goerdel, Jr.; son-in-law, Joe Robertson; three sisters and four brothers. She is survived by daughters, Donna Robertson and Maudella Ulmer and son-in-law, George Ulmer. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Christine Wood; Chase, Cary and Cliff Weddington; Clint and Clay Robertson; their spouses; eleven great-grandchildren, ten nieces, and five nephews. Her two surviving sisters are Saradel Hart and Marie LeNoir. She will be greatly missed by all who love her.
