She graduated from Waco High School and Baylor University with a degree in Education and English. Shortly after graduating from Baylor, she taught school in Troy, Texas, along with several other friends from Baylor. Mrs. Jones was a lifelong resident of Waco except for the years during World War II when her husband, Edward Lee Jones, was assigned to St. Louis, Washington, D.C., and Dallas as a special agent with the FBI. Millicent and Edward, who was a graduate of Baylor Law School, were married on December 8, 1941, and shared sixty wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 2001. Millicent was involved in many church and civic activities throughout her lifetime. A lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, where her father had been pastor for many years, she was president of the choir and served in various capacities in several of the other ongoing church programs. Her charitable activities included committee service with the March of Dimes, the Waco Symphony, the Cotton Palace Pageant, and board service with Evangelia Settlement and Oakwood Cemetery. She was a longtime member of the Junior League, Colonial Dames, and the Literary Club. She also served as president of the PTA at her children's schools. Millicent was a devoted friend to many Waco residents for nearly a century and was eternally grateful to them for generously sharing their lives with her and her family. In addition to her husband, Edward Lee Jones, Millicent was predeceased by her brothers, Charles Caldwell and Tillman Bill Caldwell. She is survived by her two children, Millicent Fluffy Jones of Arlington, and Ed Buddy Jones of New York City. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Waco. The family wishes to express its heartfelt gratitude to her caregivers at Arden Courts in Arlington, Vitas Hospice and St. Elizabeth Place in Waco.
