MILTON E. BENTLEY Milton E. Bentley, 75, of Waco, passed away December 30, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer. Graveside services will be at 2:30pm Thursday, January 2, 2003 at Oakwood Cemetery with Rev. Jimmie Spann officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 1124 Washington Ave. Mr. Bentley was a Christian and a long-time member of the Memorial Baptist Church. He was born in Cego, TX on November 18, 1927 to Sallie and Oras Bentley. After graduating from Bruceville-Eddy High School, he served in the Merchant Marines and the U.S. Navy. Mr. Bentley was a letter carrier in the Waco area for 35 years and was active in N.A.L.C. Branch 404. He retired in 1986 and worked for Baylor University Mail Center until 1996. Survivors include his beloved wife of 51 years, Bobbie; daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Rodney Moon of Desoto; granddaughter, Laura Moon of Desoto; and grandson, Michael Moon of Laramie, Wyoming. His son Gary preceded him in death, as well as his brother Ruben. Mr. Bentley is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Leslie and Ruby Bentley of Louisiana and Clarence and Mary Jo Bentley of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Ella Merle and I. D. Jones of Dallas; and sister-in-law, Gloria Bentley of San Antonio. Other survivors are Howard and Linda Geurin of Waco, Linda and David Bracken of Fort Worth, Jeanette and Bob Spencer of Temple, Katherine Ross of Danville, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
