July 14, 1910 — June 1, 2001

MINNIE B. CALLAWAY, 90, a longtime resident of China Spring died Friday June 1, 2001 at her home. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 5, 2001 at Mt. Calm Cemetery, Rev. Msgr Mark Deering officiating. Visitation will be 7-9 PM Monday at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Callaway was born July 14, 1910 in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas, the daughter of James Henry Blalock and Sarah Minnie Cole. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin where she took part in various productions, during one of which she met her husband to be Fred Harold Callaway; he preceded her in death in 1985 after 53 years of marriage. After marriage they settled in Austin and became the parents of Barbara Ann in 1934 and Larry in 1940. Mrs. Callaway was a member of the Henry Downs Chapter, National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution and St. Louis Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter Barbara Ann Callaway of China Spring; her son Lawrence “Larry” Champlin Callaway of China Spring; her brother Joseph Bailey Blalock of Milwaukee, Wisc; two grandchildren: Dawn Elise Evans of Ashburn, VA and Tracy Alan Wilkinson of Dallas; two great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
