Monaldi B. Keton September 16, 1919 October 9, 2008 Monaldi B. Keton Bailey, 89 of Waco was called to be with Our Father on October 9, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Monday, October 13, 2008 at St. Louis Catholic Church with the Msgr. Mark Deering as Celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Monaldi Bailey was born September 16, 1919 to O.M. and Jessie Bailey in Electra, Texas. A few years later her family moved to Waco where her father was a police officer with the Waco Police Department. She graduated from Waco High School in 1937. On her birthday in 1939 she married the love of her life, William Bill E. Keton Sr. He preceded her in death just 7 months prior to their 50th wedding anniversary. They were devoted members of St. Louis Catholic Church since 1964. She worked at Graham embroidery for 14 dedicated years before going to work in the bakery that Bill had taken over from his family in 1949 on Austin Ave. in downtown Waco. The Keton's bakery was established in the early 1900's. She took on many duties at the bakery including cake decorating prior to them retiring and closing the bakery in 1981. They were well known for their delicious cakes and unforgettable cream puffs. She lived her life dedicated to caring for others. She was recognized numerous times for her many volunteer hours and years at the VA Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 121 and St. Veronica's Circle. She loved to cook, sew, knit, crochet and cross stitch. She was well known for her kind spirit and for her angelic white hair. Monaldi is preceded in death by her husband; her brother, Billy Ray Bailey and her parents. Surviving family includes her son, William E. Keton Jr. of Waco; son, Ken Keton and wife, Annie of Morgan City, Louisiana; granddaughters, Billie M. Torres of Waco; Rickie Iler and husband, Rick of Kansas City, Kansas; grandsons, Kenny Keton and wife, Jackie of Morgan City, Louisiana; Danny Keton and wife, Zita of Rowlett and twelve great grandchildren, Ashley, Tifani and Alysa Torres of Waco; Christian, Alexis and Brianna of Kansas City, Kansas; Jacob Ward, of New Orleans; Brett and Cayce of Morgan City, Louisiana; and Jonathan, Ryan and Gracianna of Rowlett. Pallbearers are members of the Knights of Columbus. Memorials can be made to Providence Hospice. Special thanks to Jeffery Place nursing home and Providence Hospice, especially Lea and Kim for the countless hours and wonderful care you gave to our loved one.
