Absher, Moneta G. Moneta Gertrude Absher, 96, of Westminster House 803 N. Wahneta St., Allentown, PA died Monday, April 15, 2002 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethleham, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of the late Ray D. Absher of Riesel, Texas. Born in Roaring River, NC the second of six children of James E. and Clementine M. Sebastian Greenwood. She attended school in Mt. View, NC and business school in Winston Salem, NC where she worked for the Southern Railroad and met her first husband, Samuel J. Craven. They married in 1927 and had one son. Her husband passed away in 1950. She married Ray D. Absher in 1952 and moved to farm in Riesel where they raised cattle. She was a member of the First Baptist Church there. She is survived by her son Hugh G. Craven of Palmer, PA, sisters Mary N. Venable of Winston-Salem, NC, Dorothy L. Hefner of Waco, TX, stepdaughters Jeanie Pierce of Hewitt, TX, Nancy LaRue of Poquoson, VA. Four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey
