Morean Matthias Walker

WALKER, MOREAN Morean Matthias Walker, age 89, of Waco died Monday, June 24, 2002 at a local hospital. Memorial services will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, June 27 at Columbus Ave. Baptist Church Chapel with Rev. Dan White officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at Axtell Cemetery. Arrangements are through Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Walker was born January 31, 1913 to Birdie May Vaughan Matthias and Henry Woodfin Matthias. She worked at Bell Telephone Company as an operator for years and earned a M.A. degree from Baylor University. In 1940, she married McKie B. Walker, who later served as county judge. Mrs. Walker was an active member of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church for many years. Survivors include brother, Norris W. Matthias of San Antonio. Memorials may be made to Friends For Life.
