Morris Thomas Wall September 20, 1923 – June 12, 2016 Morris T. Wall of Waco passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, at First Baptist Church Waco Chapel with the Dr. Matt Snowden officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. Morris was born on September 20, 1923, in Knox City, Texas, to Ivan Wall and Lucy Scroggins Wall. He grew up in East Texas, served in World War II and graduated from Baylor University. Morris enrolled at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and there he met Dora Louise Sexton. They married on August 15, 1951. Two daughters were born to Morris and Dora-Deborah Lee Wall McCord and Karen Sue Wall Talley. Morris served churches in Georgia, Idaho, Colorado, Arizona, Texas and Alaska. His ministry focused on planting and growing churches in these areas. Morris had the gift of bringing people together for the sake of the Gospel, leading them to Christ and helping them to grow in their faith. Morris embraced people and was a constant encourager as he sought to bring out the best in each individual. Morris served as Associate Pastor at First Baptist Church, Waco, from 1979-1982, and the Walls returned as members at First Baptist in 1999. His commitment to Christ and love for people caused Morris to be widely known and loved by friends and acquaintances. Morris was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dora Wall; daughter, Karen Talley and husband, Brent; son-in-law, Stephen McCord; and grandchildren, Mindy McCord, Mathew McCord, Kennon Talley, Lessye Talley Cam, Sasha Talley Warren, Chelsey Talley Garner and Cassidy Talley.
