Frank Beard, 87, of Waco, died peacefully Thursday, February 9, 2023. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 17 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Services will be held at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 18. Burial will follow at White Rock Cemetery, near Ross.
Frank was born to H.S. and Irna Beard on April 10, 1935 in Ross, Texas. He graduated from Waco High in 1953 and Baylor in 1957. He served in the United States Air Force before attending Baylor Law School. After law school, Frank was an assistant District Attorney for McLennan County. He then joined his brothers Pat Beard and Mike Beard in the law firm, Beard, Kultgen, and Beard. Frank retired from the firm, now Beard, Kultgen, Brophy, Bostwick, & Dickson, in 2008. Frank married the love of his life, Georgia Faubion, in 1990. Frank and Georgia enjoyed time with family and attending Baylor football and basketball games. Frank was an avid tennis player and musician. Frank loved tennis and enjoyed many hours on the court with friends and in tournaments. He served on the Board of the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame. He also loved playing his violin and participating in a string quartet. Frank also played violin in the orchestra and sang in the choir and men’s quartet at First Baptist Waco.
Frank is survived by his wife, Georgia; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Joey Jaska, Jimmy Jaska, Craig Lawhorn, Rhett Lawhorn, Mike Beard, Bramlet Beard, Joe Beard, and Horace Beard.
Memorials may be made to the Texas Tennis Hall of Fame or the Waco Symphony Association.
