JENKINS, THELMA WRIGHT Mrs. Thelma Wright Jenkins, 94, a longtime Waco resident and teacher died Monday, September 9, 2002 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 1:30pm Wednesday, September 11 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. with Rev. Dan White officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Mrs. Jenkins was born September 10, 1907 in Robertson County. She graduated in 1925 from Lott High School. She received a bachelor’s degree from University of Mary Hardin Baylor with a master’s degree from Baylor University. She was a teacher in Falls County, LaVega, and Waco. She retired in 1972 after teaching 46 years. Mrs. Jenkins was a life member of Zeta Chapter, Delta Kappa Gamma and the National Education Association. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Columbus Avenue Baptist Church. She married Reg Jenkins November 23, 1954. He died September 6, 1983. Survivors include stepdaughter, Mrs. Alvin Faye Dulock of Waco, three step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Charles L. Sligh, Jr., Chase Sligh, Gregory Ogden, David Dulock, Cliff Dulock, Al Dulock and Geoffrey Ogden. Honorary pallbearer is retired Baylor Professor, Dr. William B. Herrington.
