Mrs. W.H. Joyce Junghans

Mrs. W.H. Joyce Junghans August 4, 1923 – July 27, 2006 Joyce Capron Junghans, age 82, died Thursday, July 27, 2006. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, August 24 at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA. Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 1 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque. Joyce was born August 4, 1923 in Marietta, Ohio to Doreas and H. N. Capron, Jr. At an early age, she moved with her parents to Bogalusa, Louisiana. She graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with a BA degree. While there, she was President of the National Sorority Alpha Sigma Tau, President of the Pan Hellimic Council and Secretary-Treasurer of her sophomore class. After graduation, she worked for the Bureau of Aeronautics, Navy Department, in Washington, D.C. She also worked for the VA in Washington, D.C. and Commsts West Pac in Yokosuka, Japan. She was a substitute teacher in Philadelphia, Norristown and Bensalem, PA and in Waco. She married William H. Junghans, Jr. September 7, 1946. She was a member of Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and the adult bible class. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by several cousins and other relatives. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbus Avenue Baptist Church and the Waco Humane Society Animal Shelter or to your favorite charity.
