He grew up in Waco and graduated from Waco High School. He entered the Army Air Force during World War II and returned home in 1949 to marry his first wife Carol Ann Elms. A part of the Austin Engraving Company for 26 years, he also owned Star Printing Company during that time. He was an active member of Lakewood Christian Church and United Commercial Travelers. He is survived by his loving wife, Gladyce Manley Friedholm; his children, David, DeAnn, Lugene and Kenneth Friedholm. Together, their families include David’s wife, Linda, a granddaughter and son-in-law, Amber and Ryan Sterling of Dallas; Ken’s wife Helen, their children Ashley and Brandon of Lorena; Gladyce’s daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Larry Camp; step-granddaughter Lesley and her husband David Bush, and step-grandson Anthony Camp, all of Louisiana, all of whom loved him dearly.
