Myrtle Bennett Koester

February 4, 1917 — May 12, 2005

Koester, Myrtle Bennett Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with the Lord and Savior on May 12, 2005 at the age of 88. Services will be Saturday, at 10:00 AM, May 14 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 6125 Bosque Blvd. with Pastor Norm Steinke officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, May 13 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral home, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Koester was born February 4, 1917 in Mart, Texas and lived with her beloved husband and family her entire life in central Texas. She was a charter and life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Waco. She was a skilled seamstress at Mr. Jacks in Waco for 15 years and continued to provide seamstress services for many Waco families after her retirement. She was an accomplished gardener and enjoyed family activities with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an inspiration and role model for all who knew her. She remained steadfast in her faith and always maintained her love for life. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and four brothers. She is survived by Ben, her loving and caring husband of 59 years; son, Larry and wife, Linda and granddaughter, Amanda Koester; daughter, Debbie and husband, Bill Skinner; grandson, Don and wife, Traci Perkins and great grandchildren, Alexandra and Ben Perkins; two sisters, Betty Black and Martha Humphries and two brothers, Harvey Bennett and Charles Winkelman. We extend a special thanks to Dr. Gary Barbin, Dr. Wayne Falcone, and the expert staff who cared for her at Providence Hospital. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Waco, Texas.
