Myrtle Morie Blackman January 6, 1922 - May 11, 2009 Morie Blackman of Waco passed away Monday, May 11, 2009, at St. Catherine's Center. Services will be at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, May 14, at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Hulitt Gloer officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Morie was born January 6, 1922, in Coryell County to Pate and Myrtle Williams. She worked at Montgomery Wards and retired from Cogdell's. She loved her family, her church and all her many dear friends. She was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Clarence Blackman of Waco; sons, Allen Blackman and wife, Judy, of Mesquite; and Robert Blackman and wife, Jessie, of Athens; four grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and ten step great-grandchildren and two step great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
