N.R.A. Ray West February 21, 1934 - August 23, 2007 Ray West passed away Thursday, August 23, 2007 at his home from a long term illness. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 27 at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 26 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home. Ray retired from the military in 1980. He made his home in Bruceville-Eddy where he enjoyed farming, fishing and camping. Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Lena Clarice West; parents, William and Vera West; in-laws Waylan and Flora Bray; one sister, Edith Hurley; three brothers, Mearl West, Al West, Wilford West and granddaughter, Melanie West. Ray is survived by his children, James William West and wife Robin; James Ray West and wife Carrie; Timothy Wayne West, Cindy Dreling and husband Leonard; Charles West and wife Pam; Vicki Schuler and husband Bill; brother-in-law, Hershal Bray and wife Elizabeth of Eddy; sister-in-law Martha Anne Brace of Waco and several wonderful grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bruceville-Eddy Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.
