Nancy Lillian Tiner April 28, 1929 August 28, 2010 Nancy Lillian Tiner of Waco passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Teague Nursing Home. Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, at Rosemound Cemetery with Pastor Mitchell Jones officiating. Nancy was born April 28, 1929, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to William and Alma Lemke. She was one of twelve children. All of her grandparents immigrated to the United States from Germany. Her father was a draftsman, and her mother taught piano lessons. Nancy and her sisters grew up singing gospel music on a local radio program in Milwaukee. Nancy worked as a model before becoming a flight attendant for American Airlines, where she met and married Marshall Tiner, a pilot, in 1953. She spent the next 57 years of her life as a devoted wife and mother to their three children. They lived in Dallas until moving to a ranch in Athens in 1963. In 1975, Nancy and Marshall moved to Bridgeport, Texas, and lived at Runaway Bay. Nancy worked as a volunteer for the Bridgeport Public Library for many years until moving to the Waco area in 2004. After 53 years of marriage, Marshall passed away in 2006, and Nancy moved to Lakeshore Estates where she has enjoyed living ever since. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Tiner; her parents; one brother; and four sisters. She is survived by five sisters; one brother; daughter, Gayle Burleson and husband, Charlie, of Teague; two sons, Marshall Dale Tiner and wife, Susan, of Elgin, Texas; and Mark William Tiner and wife, Catherine, of Willow Park, Texas. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, John Burleson, Katie Burleson, Jeana Clayton, Sarah Tiner, David Tiner, Adam Tiner, Brandon Tiner, and Cody Tiner; and two great grandchildren, Justin Klear and Rachael Clayton. While there is no formal visitation, the family invites you to visit her at Wilkirson Hatch Bailey Funeral Home in Waco at any time before the service Tuesday morning.
