Nancy Parker Reid

Nancy Parker Reid died peacefully Wednesday, July 17, 2024.


A private service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church upon Nancy’s request.


Nancy was born June 12, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois to Frances Stotts Parker and Dr. Dean Parker. She graduated in 1964 from Roosevelt High School in Seattle, Washington. She attended the University of Puget Sound and graduated with a degree in Political Science with a minor in history and music in 1968. She was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta (Delta Iota chapter) and a member of the Adelphian Concert Choir and the University Madrigal Singers while at University of Puget Sound.


Nancy married Dr. John M. Reid in Seattle in 1968 and was married for 37 years until his death in August of 2005.


Nancy was very active in her church and in the Waco community. She was a member of St Paul’s Episcopal Church and was a member of the Altar Guild, St. Pauls Guild, Chancel Choir member, Lay Eucharistic minister, Meals on Wheels-Cooking team and St. Pauls Episcopal Day school board member. She was also active with Kappa Alpha Theta (Epsilon Epsilon chapter) as a recruitment advisor, the Junior League of Waco: Musical Therapy Troupe and the McLennan County Medical Alliance Auxiliary.


Nancy was preceded in death by brothers, Stone Parker, and McKenzie Parker.


She is survived by her children, Paige Reid Porrello, and Graham Parker Reid; her grandchildren, Nicholas Reid Porrello, and Katie McCoy Porrello; her brother, Bruce Knox Parker and wife, Victoria; her nephews and nieces, Stone R. Parker, Dylan Parker, Travis Parker, Alison Parker and Janine Parker Ricks.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 601 Columbus Ave, Waco, Texas 76701, St. Pauls Episcopal day school, 517 Columbus Avenue, Waco, Texas 76701 and Senior Ministry: Meals on Wheels.
