STAGNER, NAOMI Sidney Naomi Stagner, age 87 passed from this life on Sunday, November 23, 2003. She had made her home in Wichita Falls for 37 years before moving to Waco. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, November 26 at Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas with Associate Pastor Mark Welshimer, of First Methodist Church Waco, officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Tuesday, November 25 at the funeral home. Mrs. Stagner was born Sidney Naomi Thornell in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma on June 25, 1916 and was the fourth daughter of Sid and Addie Thornell. Naomi grew up in Dallas where she met and married John Franklin Frank Stagner June 12, 1935. They had two children, Wayne and Sidney. Naomi was the perfect helpmate for Frank, who was a golf professional for 31 years. Naomi and Frank were happily married for 48 years. She was active in University United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls, Weeks Park Ladies Golf Association and American Red Cross. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Stagner in December 1983 and her son Wayne Stagner in September 2002. She is survived by daughter, Sidney Bowden and husband, Joe of Waco, sister, Edith Vines of Waxahachie, sister-in-law, Dorothy Ray and husband, Burl of Hobbs, New Mexico, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
