Nelda Braune Saladino

April 13, 1918 — November 25, 2003

SALADINO, NELDA BRAUNE Nelda Braune Saladino, age 85, of Waco died Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at a local hospital. A rosary will be recited at 10am Friday, November 28 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel with Rev. David Leibham officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 5-7pm Thursday, November 27 at the funeral home. Mrs. Saladino was born in Womack, Texas to Gus and Annie Braune April 13, 1918. She married Tony Saladino in December 1936; he preceded her in death November 24, 2002. She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was raised on a farm in Womack and attended school there. She was a great cook, homemaker and a great house keeper. As a young child, she was stricken with polio, but in spite of her illness was still able to raise four children. She was also preceded in death by one great great granddaughter Danielle Kettler of Hillsboro and son-in-law, Edward Kettler. Survivors include daughters, Eva Ann Corbo of San Antonio and Betty Kettler of Whitney; sons, Anthony Paul Saladino, Jr. and Patrick Saladino both of Waco; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and sisters, Hattie Schult of Mineral Wells and Irene Lester of Houston. Pallbearers will be Monsignor J. J. Kearns 4th Degree Assy. 1109. The family would like to give special thanks to Regent Care Center of Woodway.
