Nell French Hart passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel in Waco, Texas, with Rev. Wayne Williams officiating. The burial will be 9:00 a.m., prior to the service at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home, in the Garden Room.
Nell was born January 31, 1930, at home on a farm outside of Dawson, Texas, to Verse and Euella Watts French. Nell was educated at Milford, Texas schools. Nell married Malcolm Hart on April 14, 1949, in Dallas, TX. They resided in Dallas and Houston, Texas before re-locating to Waco in 1955. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, and volunteering, as well as Baylor Women’s Basketball.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Malcolm Hart; brothers, Kelton, Willie, Darwood, and James Lee French, and sisters, Wynona Siler, Berta White, Sue Winningham, and Joy Southern.
She is survived by son, Gary Hart and wife Jane; daughter, Dana Hart Ferguson; granddaughter, Kaitlin Praesel and husband Nolan; granddaughter, Monica Hart Morad and husband Ramy; great-granddaughter, Madison Marie Praesel; brother, Darrell French and sister, Rose Kilbrew. Nell is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers are Randy French, Jeff French, Gayle French, James Goodman French, Randall Roberts, David Doss, Chuck Becker, Robert Miller, Kenneth Slimp, Gary Horn and John McClain.
