August 4, 1920 — January 20, 2003

HARRELL, NELLIE EVA Nellie Eva Harrell, age 82, of Waco passed away Monday, January 20, 2003 at a local nursing home. Graveside services will be held 3pm Thursday, January 23 at Bosqueville Cemetery with Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 6-8pm Wednesday, January 22 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Harrell was born on August 4, 1920 in Waco to Charles and Eva DeLamar Stewart. She married David Jackson Sonny Harrell and celebrated 52 years of marriage before his passing. They were avid dancers and were members of Sul Ross Senior Center, Young at Heart, and the Stardust dance clubs. Before her illness Mrs. Harrell was active in Walter Baldwin Chapter of Eastern Star, Daytime Rebekkah Lodge, and various senior activities. During her lifetime she devoted time to extension services, home demonstration clubs and was a 4-H leader. She was a past superintendent of the HOT Fair Women’s Division and was one of the original “Fair Ladies” serving on the board for a number of years. She was longtime member of Lake Shore United Methodist Church. Mrs. Harrell over the years brought joy to many happy couples using her skills as a professional seamstress to do complete weddings. In later years Mrs. Harrell turned her attention of making ceramics, which are still enjoyed by many people today. She is preceded in death by her husband, and her son, Charles David Harrell. Survivors include her daughters, Mary Wetterman and husband, Jim, Susan Beth Womack and husband, Fred, all of Waco; grandchildren, James Jimmy Wetterman and wife, Dawn, Brian Wetterman, Mary Parkinson and husband, Kenneth, Brandi Womack, Donald Harrell, David Harrell and wife, Amity, and Shelley Smith and husband, Tom and five great grandchildren. The family will be at 2309 North 50th St. The family believes that Mrs. Harrell is now in heaven dancing with the angels.
