GARCIA, NICOLASA GARZA Nicolasa Garza Garcia, 97 of Waco, formerly of Laredo, passed away Sunday, November 7, 2004. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday, November 10 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Rev. Patrick Ebner as celebrant. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7pm Tuesday, November 9 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey with visitation with the family from 6-9pm. Mrs. Garcia was born September 8, 1907 in Rancho Blanco, Zapata County, Texas. She was the second eldest daughter of Felix and Margarita Garza. They later moved to Laredo, where she attended elementary school. She lived in Laredo until 1981, and then moved to Waco. She was a homemaker, a loving and giving grandmother and mother who enjoyed going to church, gardening, and playing bingo with her friends. She also enjoyed making tamales for Christmas and giving them to friends, and helping others who came into her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cenovio R. Garcia, her parents, sisters, Manuela G. Benavides, Carmen G. Gonzalez, Isabel G. Medina, Guadalupe G. Torres, brothers, Casimiro Garza and Eduardo Garza, and son-in-law, Archie L. Chouinard. She is survived by daughters, Maria Elida Luna and husband, Mauro of Laredo and Maria Alicia Chouinard of Waco; granddaughter, Rosa Alicia Lopez and husband, Gerardo of McAllen; grandsons, Robert Chouinard and wife, Cynthia of Burleson, Richard Chouinard of Waco, Ricardo Luna and wife, Marcela, and Fernando Luna and wife, Mari all of Laredo; 11 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Richard Chouinard, Robert Chouinard, Michael Varadi, Gabriel Lopez, Roby Robles and Kevin R. Brown. The family expresses their appreciation for the care given by staff at Quality Care of Waco, Providence Hospice, Dr. Richard Jackson and Dr. Oei. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church, Reicher-Deering Center or charity of choice.
