Nina Blackburn Ferguson September 9, 1918 - May 9, 2011 Nina Ferguson of Robinson passed away Monday, May 9, 2011. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 14 at St. Mark Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Price officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Nina was born September 9, 1918, in Chilton, Texas, to Prince and Bessie Blackburn. She grew up and lived most of her life in the Waco area, where she enjoyed cooking, genealogy and nutrition. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, James Connally Air Force Base and 12th Air Force Headquarters. In 1970 she was involved in opening Waco's first vitamin nutritional shop. She was a 1938 Waco High graduate and married to Harold G. Ferguson on August 2, 1941. She had a strong Christian faith and was deeply devoted to her family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold G. Ferguson; eight brothers, Lloyd, Clyde, Tiny, Boyd, Claude, Eddie, John, and Luther Blackburn; and one sister, Edna Farney. She is survived by two sons, Craig Ferguson and wife, Willene, of Waco, and Keith Ferguson and wife, Betty, of McGregor; three sisters, Donna McCahon, Jewel and husband, Newman Copeland, and Mary and husband, Fred Soules; four grandchildren, Brian Ferguson and wife, Jennifer, Lisa Herr and husband, Karl; Allen Ferguson and Lauren Ferguson; four great-grandchildren, Lilli Ferguson, Linkon Ferguson, Greta Herr and Otto Herr; and many nieces and nephews whom she deeply loved. Pallbearers will be Jerry Blackburn, Dale Blackburn, Donald Blackburn, Greg Fore, Scott Jones and Petru Lupu. The family greatly appreciates the love and wonderful care given to Nina by Petru and Lucy Lupu and family. Memorials may be made to St. Mark Lutheran Church, Providence Hospice or the charity of your choice.
