Nina Gene Mitchell April 24, 1911 March 6, 2008 Nina Gene Mitchell, age 96, of Dover, and formerly of Waco, Texas, died peacefully late Thursday morning, March 6, 2008, following an extended illness. Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 11, at Rosemound Cemetery. Born at Gholson, Texas, April 24, 1911, Nina was the last surviving of six born to the late Edward and Mae Sparks Ryals. Nina was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church, Waco, Texas, and attended First Baptist Church at New Philadelphia during the last two decades. A homemaker her entire life, Nina and her late husband owned and operated Guy Mitchell Dry Cleaners, formerly of Waco, Texas. Nina will be remembered as an avid Bridge player. Since relocating to Dover in the late 1980's, she was a member of the Tuscarawas Valley Duplicate Bridge Club. In addition to her parents, Nina is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-three years, three brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Cox Regan, and husband William, of Mobile, Alabama, a grandson; Dr. Jack Ronald Cox Jr. and wife Margaret of Normangee, Texas, a great-granddaughter. Melanie Cox of Columbus, Ohio, and a former daughter-in-law, Christina Chandler. Two nieces, Barbara O'Neal, and Jerre Christian, complete the family.
