Nita Beth Scott, age 75, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2024, in Waco, Texas.


Her memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at First Woodway Baptist Church with a visitation prior to the service in the church beginning at 10:00 a.m.


Nita was born on June 17, 1948, in Waco, Texas. She was a proud 1965 graduate of Permian High School in Odessa, Texas. She continued her education at Baylor University, earning a bachelor's degree in business, and later obtained a master's degree in physical education with a concentration in dance from Sam Houston State University. Nita cherished her family and friends deeply. She was especially proud of her heritage, notably her parents, Dick and Bettie Clark, who were successful entrepreneurs in the food service industry, owning several restaurants across Central Texas, Levelland, and Odessa.


The highlight of Nita's life was raising her two children, Jim and Jennifer, with her husband, Robert, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage. She felt blessed to be a grandmother to her eight grandchildren.


Nita was talented in many areas, including dance, music, and creating beautiful knitted items and quilts. She made numerous quilts for her family, friends, and charities. An active member of the Waco Homespun Quilter's Guild, Nita served as its President from 2020 to 2021. She also enjoyed taking piano lessons.


Nita is survived by her sister, Catherine Revell, and nephew, Roger Revell; her husband, Robert Scott; her children, Jim Scott and his wife, Kelly, and Jennifer Wright and her husband, Tim; she is also survived by her grandchildren, Keavin Faith and his wife, Nicole, Collin Faith, Kayla Scranton and her husband Calden, Caroline Scott, Peyton Wright, Finley Wright, Canon Wright, and Harper Wright.


Nita held many dear friendships, including those with longtime friends Bonnie Link and the Link family, and Cathy Schneberger and the Schneberger family. She enjoyed participating in and leading many Bible studies throughout her life, forming cherished friendships, including with Jan Gilbert at First Woodway Baptist Church.
