She graduated from Glen Rose High and was the first one in her family to graduate from college at Texas Wesleyan College in 1939, with a degree in home economics and physical education. She lettered in basketball and field hockey for TWC. She taught elementary school in Waco for more than 20 years, before retiring in 1981. Mr. and Mrs. Lattimore were members of Calvary Baptist Church in Waco, where Mac was educational director for 30 years. Nona taught Sunday school, led numerous mission activities, and was a member of the choir at Calvary. After retirement she and Mac served in various churches in Nebraska, Kansas, California, and New York on special mission assignments. Two years spent at Southside Baptist Church in Lincoln, Nebraska, were especially meaningful for them. After living in Waco for 50 years, she moved to Emerald Bay in Bullard, in 1995, to be near her daughter. She was an active member of the Emerald Bay community and especially Emerald Bay Community Church, where she was chair of the Missions committee for several years. All who knew her were enriched by her friendship. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Mac D. Lattimore. Nona is survived by two children, Danny Lattimore and Bonnie of Collierville, Tennessee, and Nonette Terry David of Bullard. She also leaves five grandchildren, Deanne Terry Pierce John of Corpus Christi, Lisa Terry Schmitt Todd of Austin, Laurie Lattimore Volkmann Mark of Charleston, South Carolina, Diana Lattimore of San Francisco, California, and John Lattimore Chandler of Sevierville, TN; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Adria Schimpf Don of Arlington.
