Norma Elizabeth Wickey

Wickey, Norma Norma Hackbarth Wickey, 83, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at her home. Services will be Friday, May 27 at 1:30 PM at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel, 6101 Bosque, with Rev. Frank Mangum officiating. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial North. Mrs. Wickey was born on January 23, 1922 in Waco. She graduated from Waco High School in 1939 and received her Bachelor of Science degree from Baylor University in 1942. Norma Hackbarth married John Robert Wickey on June 20, 1947 in Waco. She taught at McGregor High School and Hearn ISD and taught English at Anderson High School until her retirement. She was active in the First National Methodist Church of Anderson and in the Anderson community. She was a member of St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Waco. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Wickey, brother, Harlan Walker Hackbarth and sister, Bonnie Hackbarth Harris. She is survived by sister, Margie Hackbarth Springer of Lubbock and three nieces, Margie Grossenbacher Allen of Waco, Helen Hackbarth Allen of Houston and Linda Springer Rice of Lubbock and a nephew, Glen Springer of Aspermont.
