Norma Patterson

Norma Patterson passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024, at Genesis Senior Care in Montgomery, Texas.


A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2024, at Stonebridge Church located at 1 Stonebridge Church Dr., Woodlands, Texas 77382. Pastor Steve Bradley will officiate. A private family burial will be held in Waco, Texas.


Norma Patterson was born in Waco, Texas, and grew up in Moody, Texas, where she attended high school, after which she went to business college in the Waco area. She worked as a legal secretary, including at the Texas State legislature in Austin Texas.


Norma married Harry Lee Patterson (Pat) on May 11, 1946. After the birth of her two children, Norma devoted herself to raising her family in the Waco area. Norma’s hobbies and interests included the Garden Club and watching all types of sports, especially her beloved Baylor Bears. She was an active member in her church, First Baptist of Woodway, Texas, where she was involved in her church choir and missions programs, which included her going on several mission trips. After Pat’s retirement, they moved to the Woodlands area to be close to their grandkids and where they became active members of StoneBridge Church. There they enjoyed time with their family, traveling, and activities with their wide circle of friends. After Pat’s passing in 2012, Norma continued to live life to its fullest.


Throughout her life, Norma was devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and friends. Her life was characterized by her love for others, and she was a blessing to all that knew her. Norma’s faith in Jesus was very strong as she would take every opportunity to share her personal testimony with others. She was dearly loved and cared for by all the staff members at Genesis Senior Care in Montgomery, Texas.


Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L Patterson (Pat); her mother, Nora White; by her father, and step mother, George and Georgie White; and her sister, and brother-in-law, Ruby and Gene Garner.


Norma’s surviving relatives are her daughter and son-in-law John & Lee Ann Brooks; her son, Michael Patterson; her grandchildren, Hannah Brooks and Zachary Brooks; her nephew, Steve Garner, and his wife, Kathy Garner; as well as her niece, Karen Teague, and her husband, Leon Teague.
