Norman E. Vinson December 22, 1947 April 6, 2011 Norman E. Vinson of Waco passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011. Graveside services, with U.S. Marine military honors, will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, at Rosemound Cemetery with Elder Randall Jean of Highland Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the burial at the cemetery. Norman was born December 22, 1947, to Cecil R. Vinson and Norma Elaine Hill Vinson in Indianapolis, Indiana. He attended Arlington High School in Indianapolis, Casper College in Casper, Wyoming and the University of Wyoming in Casper. After college he served faithfully in the U.S. Marine Corps; serving our Country in Vietnam; and after being wounded on April 21, 1967, he retired because of medical reasons. During Norman's marriage to Nancy Lee Raia Monkman, their children, Jennifer and Kimberly were born; and during his marriage to Larene T. Amundsen, his sons, Craig and Brian, were born. He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kimberly A. Poland. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Baker and husband, Robert and Jennifer Lynn's mother, Nancy Lee Raia Monkman; sons, Craig Allen Vinson and wife, Katherine, Brian Patrick Vinson and wife, Holly and Craig and Brian's mother, Larene T. Amundsen; grandchildren, Alora Yreille Vinson and Josiah James Vinson; and numerous other family members and friends. Memorial may be made to Highland Baptist Missionary Fund.
