Norman G. Radunz

January 30, 1934 — September 13, 2016

Early Tuesday morning, Norman was called home by our Father in Heaven. He was 82 years old. The funeral service will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, September 19, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Burial will follow at Waco Memorial Park. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 18, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Norm was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and loyal friend to many. He was born in Litchfield, Minnesota, to Rudolph and Myrtle Radunz, one of six children. He graduated from Litchfield High School in 1952. While there he was a member of the National Honor Society. Norm was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, and served from 1953 to 1957. In 1958, he married Lois Mossengren, and they shared 52 years together. For 38 years, he was employed at Marathon Power Technologies. During his time there he participated in the designing of the battery for the Boeing 727 and 747. He lived a long, full life. His favorite pastimes were playing golf and restoring old cars. He was an avid Nascar fan, and even served as chief mechanic for a racer at the Heart of Texas Speedway. Norm was a devout Lutheran, strong in his faith in the Lord. He dedicated his time serving on multiple church boards, acted as youth group leader, and even taught Sunday School. All who had the pleasure of knowing him, knew him as a very generous, and upstanding man. He drew great enjoyment from helping others, and was always the first to ask, “What can I do to help.” He was a devoted father and grandfather to three daughters and eight grandchildren. Much of his time over the years was spent supporting his grandkids at ballgames, rodeo events and ag shows; or helping his teenage grandsons work on their cars. He attended all graduations, dance recitals and other special events. He shared with all of us his wisdom, experience, and above all, his values. So much we have all learned from this great man. Norm was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dwaine Radunz; sister, Elta Simmons; and his daughter, Linea Marie Radunz. He is survived by his three daughters, Lori Vandivere and husband, Jerry, Pam Hill and husband, Jeff, and Janine Radunz and boyfriend, Randy Bobbitt; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; his sisters, Lorraine Peipus and Marlene Roles; and his brother, Richard Radunz. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren: Brandon Hendrickson, Steven Hendrickson, Jeffrey Hendrickson, Amy Lawson and husband, Rowdy, Darla Walton and husband, Scott, Kaitlynn Martin and husband, Cody, Jennifer Englert and husband, Dylan, and Tiffany Vandivere and fiancé, Payton Jones.
