ALFORD, NYLA Nyla Corrine Paulson Alford, age 66, of Waco died Thursday, April 12, 2001 at her residence. Services will be1:00 PM Monday, April 16th at First Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Peggy Ogden-Howe officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:00-8:00 PM Sunday, April 15th at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Ms. Alford was born October 17, 1934 to Rev. Isaac and Ann Paulson in Longmont, CO. She married Howard Edward Alford on May 10, 1959. She was a graduate of Waco High School in 1952 and a graduate of St. Olaf College, June 1957. She worked at the Waco State Home as a social worker from 1957-61. She was chapter manager at the Heart of Texas Red Cross from 1982-2000. She was a member of Rotary Club of Waco, National Society of Fund Raising, AAUW-American Association of University Women. She was preceded in death by her husband on December 19, 1992, her parents, and her daughter, Rebecca Lynn Alford. Survivors include: Sons: Nathan and Lacie Alford of Waco Craig and Leigh Ann Alford of Bedford Brad and Robin Alford of Waco Sister: Ellie and Jim Olson of Appleton, WI Grandchildren: Hailey, McKenzie, Sydney, Jacob, and Ethan. Pallbearers will be Bill Miller, Guy Dean, David Hafner, Ralph Johnson, Steve Jansma, Jeff Spelman, Kirby Mueller, Kyle Burroughs, and Jimmy Burnett. Honorary pallbearers are Patrick Miller, Jonathan Miller, and Kent Holiday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to American Red Cross Chapter Services, 4224 Cobbs Dr, Waco, TX 76710.
