SHELNUTT, OPAL Opal Shelnutt, 86 of Waco, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2004 at a Temple hospital. Graveside services will be at 1:30pm Thursday, September 30 at Memorial Hill Park in Austin. Visitation with the family will be from 6-9pm Wednesday, September 29 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Garden Room in Waco. Mrs. Shelnutt was born May 30, 1918 in Malakoff, Texas. She was preceded in death by husband, Thomas M. “Jack” Shelnutt, son, Stanley M. Shelnutt, father and mother, Ivy and Agnes Smith, brothers, Louis, Hollis, Andrew and Elmer “Bo” Smith, and sister, Ruth Shilling. Survivors include daughter, Tommie Ludwig and husband, Jodie of Waco; son, Barry Shelnutt and wife, Margie Kay of Austin; daughter-in-law, Karen Ringstaff of Cordova, Alaska; grandchildren, Roxann Lewallen and husband, Greg of Fort Davis, Texas, Rhonda Alves and husband, Ron of Newtown, Pennsylvania, Kim Whitt and husband, Clifton of Leander, Texas, Greg Shelnutt of Bertram, Texas, Cyle Sharp and wife, Sharla of Estancia, New Mexico, Jeff Shelnutt and Suzanne of Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Jason Shelnutt of Austin, and Lindsey Shelnutt of Dallas; great grandchildren, Joshua Lewallen and wife, Melissa of Fort Meade, Florida, Leska Lewallen of Waco, Dallas Alves of Newtown, Pennsylvania, Zachary and Shaye Whitt of Leander, Keeton Shelnutt of Dilly, Texas, Brodie and Kutter Shelnutt of Caldwell, Texas, Jett and Belynn Sharp of Estancia, New Mexico, and Alysha, Nadine and Sebastion Shelnutt of Fort Campbell, Kentucky; and great-great-granddaughter, Kayce Lynne Lewallen of Fort Meade, Florida. Pallbearers will be Jeff Shelnutt, Jason Shelnutt, Cyle Sharp, Greg Shelnutt, Joshua Lewallen, and Greg Lewallen. Honorary pallbearers are Jett Sharp, Zachary Whitt, Kutter Shelnutt, Brodie Shelnutt, Keeton Shelnutt, Dallas Alves, Sebastian Shelnutt, Clifton Whitt and Ron Alves.
