WALDEN, ORA A. Ora A. Walden, age 86, of Waco died Monday, April 29, 2002 at a local nursing home. Services will be held at 10:00AM Friday, May 3 in the Chapel of Columbus Ave. Baptist Church Waco, with the Rev. Ron Durham officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6:00-8:00PM Thursday, May 2 at 6433 Summit Ridge, Waco. Arrangements are by Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Mrs. Walden was born October 26, 1915 in Farmersville, Texas to Albert Z. LaCour and Loreau S. LaCour. The family moved to Durant, Oklahoma, where she attended school. She received her degree from Southeastern State College in Durant and received her Masters Degree from Oklahoma State University. She married Dennis D. Walden, May 9, 1937, in the Parsonage of the First Baptist Church, Durant. She taught in LeFlore and Mangum, Oklahoma as well as in Caracas, Venezuela. She was one of eleven children. She is survived by sister, Gladys Schlinke of Oklahoma City; brother, Owen LaCour of Houston; son, David D. Walden and wife, Susan of Annapolis, Maryland; daughters, LaNell Lee Lanning and husband, Wilton Lanning of Waco and Anita Walden of San Rafael, California; grandchildren, Lisa Walden, Bill Lanning and wife, Jessica, and Robert Lanning and wife, Beth; and great grandchildren, Caitlin and Austin Lanning.
