Orville Rex Phillips, 71, passed away Saturday, August 20, 2005 at his residence. Services will be at 11:30am Tuesday, August 23 at the Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 6101 Bosque Blvd. Burial will follow at Moody Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 6–8 pm, Monday, August 22 in the Garden Room at the funeral home. Rex was born June 24, 1934 to Orville and Avis Phillips in Pendleton, Tx. He attended Moody High School and served 2 years in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. In 1957, he married Yvonne Phillips. He served in law enforcement with the Killeen and Waco Police Departments and the McLennan County Sheriff Department from where he retired after 20 plus years of service. He was a member of the Crestview Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Don Phillips. He is survived by wife, Yvonne of Waco; sons, Ken Phillips and wife, Angela of Amarillo, Brad Phillips of Arlington; grandchildren, Regina, Anna, Andrew, Zachary, Chelsea and Alyssa Phillips; great-grandchild, Zaden Phillips; brother, Frank Phillips and wife, Jodie of Waco; sisters, Nelta Rea and Dee Coker and husband, Bill, both of Waco; mother-in-law, Adell Parham of Moody; brother-in-law, Larry Parham of Moody.
