Otis Leon Lemley

September 10, 1934 — February 3, 2022

Otis Lemley, 87, passed away on February 3, 2022 at Austin Seton Ascension Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, February 24, at Crossroads Fellowship Church with Rev. Cyndi Abbe officiating. Burial will follow at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Born in Huntsville, Alabama, Otis joined the Air Force during the Korean Conflict which took him to Amarillo AFB as an F84 Maintenance Instructor. It was there that he met and married Joanne Johnson, of Claude, Texas, in 1954. A southwest Fort Worth resident for 47 years, he established Lemley Insurance. The joys of his life were his Lord Jesus Christ, his children and their families, and his service to the community. He served as a leader in the Fort Worth Hope Center, Union Gospel Mission, Tarrant County Republicans, and Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship. In 2019 he and Joanne transitioned to The Delaney on Lake Waco. His life experience reflected a love for others and extended hope for lives to change for the better. Otis was a longtime board member and board member emeritus of the Union Gospel Mission in Fort Worth where one of the buildings was named in his honor, established a network of Full Gospel Men's breakfasts, served as an elder at Without Walls Church in Fort Worth, and served as treasurer of the Fort Worth Hope Center. Survivors include his best friend and wife, Joanne Johnson Lemley of Waco; three children, Rebecca Sparks of Salado, Bob Lemley and wife, Sylvia, of Waco, Randall Lemley and wife, Melanie, of Arlington; grandchildren Chris Lemley and wife, Megan, of Temple, Carlton Lemley and wife, Abigail, of Dehradun, India, Sky Sparks of Harker Heights, Rand Lemley, and wife, Tina, of Boston, MA, Reign Sparks of Salado, Ian Lemley of Lakewood, CO, Tess Williams, and husband, Jonathan, of Chattaroy, WA, and Calvin, and wife Janelle, Lemley of Milwaukee, WI; and three great-grandchildren.
