Ozero David Goodwin June 3, 1923-November 10, 2006 Ozero David Goodwin of Waco, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2006. Services will be at 3:30 p m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Chapel. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the funeral home. Mr. Goodwin was born to the late C. LeRoy Goodwin and Agnes Mae Becker Goodwin on June 3, 1923, in Wauseon, Ohio. He graduated from Wauseon High School in 1941 and attended Ohio State University until joining the Army in 1942. While stationed in Texas, he met Katherine Jane Hunt, of Hillsboro. They married on September 3, 1945. David served in the occupation army in Japan until March 1946. After leaving the Army, David enrolled in Baylor University. He received his JD from Baylor Law School in 1949. David went to work for the Veteran’s Administration Regional Office in 1953 and worked there until his retirement in 1984. The Goodwins were faithful members of Herring Avenue United Methodist Church, where David taught Sunday School for 52 years. He sang in the church choir and was a member of the Waco Civic Chorus. He helped start the Tale Twister’s Toastmaster’s group and remained an active member for many years. David was an avid golfer, coin collector, and photographer; After his retirement, he and Jane traveled all around the country, including trips to the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 and the Atlanta Olympics in 1996. During this time of traveling, he photographed all the county courthouses in Texas. David was a strong supporter of Baylor football and attended his last game on September 30 of this year. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane, in 2005, his parents, and his brothers C. L. Goodwin and Joseph R. Goodwin. He is survived by daughter Gayle Lintz and husband David of Waco, daughter JoAnne Moore and husband Jim of Edmonds Washington, and sisters-in-law Jo Brown of Austin and Rosie Goodwin of Wauseon, Ohio. He is also survived by grandchildren Collin, Patrick, and Natalie Moore, Kevin Lintz and wife April, and Jeremy Lintz and wife Sarah, and many nieces and nephews.
