Parke Edward Ressler August 21, 1915 – September 23, 2006 Parke Edward Ressler, 91, died peacefully at his home Saturday, September 23, 2006. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Oakwood Cemetery with Dr. Steven Mansen officiating. He was born on August 21, 1915 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Parke H. and Sadie Weiser Ressler. Parke met his wife, Margaret B. Tucker, while stationed in Waco at Blackland Air Force Base during World War II, service from 1941 – 1945. They were married on June 3, 1944. He received a BS from the University of Pennsylvania; a BBA, LLB and JD degrees from Baylor University and an MBA from the University of Houston. He was a member of Phi Alpha Delta and Delta Sigma Pi. In the early years, he served as an agent in the Internal Revenue Service and as an Accounting and Income Tax instructor at Baylor University. Specializing in estate planning, individual and corporate taxation, Parke practiced in Waco as both a Tax Attorney and CPA from 1952 until his retirement in 1997. He was very dedicated to his practice and to his clients. He had a reputation for fairness, honesty, and a desire to do what is right. As a member of Central Christian Church, he had served as an elder, deacon and trustee and had been in the Crusader’s Sunday school class. Parke was a member of the American Institute of C.P.A.s, the Texas and McLennan County Bar Association, Baylor Bear Foundation, Hedonia and Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Margaret. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Goble and husband, John of Dallas and Anne Meyer of Waco; grandchildren, Jennifer Goble McKelvey and husband, David, and Mike Meyer and Brady Meyer both of Dallas; and great-grandchildren, John and Mark McKelvey of Dallas. The family would like to thank Providence Hospice for the assistance they have given and Steve Kristen, his wife Uni, and their precious children, Ben, Elizabeth and Victoria, for the love and special care they provided.
