Patrick Stackhouse Rogers

November 20, 1938 — August 16, 2021

Patrick Stackhouse Rogers, 82, went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2021, at his home in Waco, TX, surrounded by family. Pat’s wishes were to be buried in Mullins, SC, and to have a celebration of his life in Pawleys Island. Plans will be announced at a later date. Pat was born in Mullins, South Carolina on November 20, 1938, to L.L. Rogers and Anne Stackhouse Rogers, and grew up in Conway. He attended The Citadel in Charleston, graduating with a degree in business administration in 1960. He served three years active service in the United States Marine Corps and was a proud veteran. He loved this country and flew the flag every day. Pat married Nancy S. Rogers on March 27, 1993. They lived at Hide-A-Way Lake in Lindale, Texas, until he retired from his real estate business. They then moved to Pawleys Island, South Carolina, where they lived there 24 years before moving back to Texas in 2020 to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Pat loved being on the water. Whether on a boat or cruise ship, being at the lake or on the beach, sitting by the pool or on the dock overlooking the salt creek, he cherished time in the fresh air and sunshine. He also loved playing golf, mainly because it meant spending time with friends and his wife. An avid reader, Pat was known to finish a huge novel in a day or two. Pat is preceded in death by his parents, L.L. and Anne Rogers, and son, Scott Rogers. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy; son, David Rogers and wife, Alicia; granddaughter, Ella; brother, Lawton Rogers and wife, Mary; niece, Lindsey Livingston, and nephew, “Tag” Rogers; and grandson, Jadon Rogers. He is also survived by Nancy’s daughters Keri Perkins and her husband, Greg; her grandchildren Camille, Blaine, and J.D. Perkins, and Christi Fedora; and her husband, Larry, and grandchildren Dillon, Sydney, Peyton, and Hallie Fedora. The family would like to thank Bluebonnet Hospice for their attentive care during his last days. Memorial donations can be made to: The Citadel Foundation (www.citadel.edu/root/giving); St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org); your local Salvation Army (www.salvationarmyusa.org/usn/ways-to-give); or the charity of your choice.
