Paul Bryan Matthieu, 61, passed away July 10, 2021 at Ascension Providence Hospital. Graveside service will be July 14, 2021 at 10:00 am at Riesel Cemetery in Riesel, Texas, with Chris Sammons officiating. Paul was born in Casablanca, Morocco, on June 21, 1960 and grew up in Riesel. He graduated from Riesel High School in 1979. Paul served in the Navy from 1979 to 1983. He graduated from Texas State Technical College with a degree in Electronics and worked at Compaq in Houston for most of his career. He moved back to Riesel after retiring in 2000 and was an active in the Riesel Lions Club for many years. He was preceded in death by his father, Evitir Matthieu, and mother, Mary Cawthon Matthieu. Paul is survived by brothers, Michael E. Matthieu and wife Myra, Robert J. Matthieu, David W. Matthieu; and his sister, Dovie A. Head and husband, Ronald. Paul also has a niece, Amanda M. Matthieu and nephews, Eric E. Matthieu, Aaron M. Head, and Jason D. Head, his wife Nicole, and grand-nephew, Elijah.
