Paul Edward Korenek, 59, passed away January 10, 2018, at Providence Hospital in Waco. Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, January 20, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Funeral Home in Waco, with Rev. Drew Wilson officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 19, also at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Paul was born on October 4, 1958, in Waco and was a lifetime resident of McLennan County. He married Margaret Anne Wilson on November 8, 2014. He was a commercial concrete contractor for 30 years, but later his innate creativity led him to designing and building custom homes. He and Margaret enjoyed their new endeavors of owning and managing Waco RV Park, as well as Jena Place in Riesel. They were planning more projects at the time of his death. Paul was a gifted, creative musician with a captivating, versatile voice. He loved the blues but could sing anything. He composed music, played guitar, bass guitar and drums. He performed in several bands throughout his life, and he loved entertaining family and friends with his unique musical talent. Paul loved the ocean almost as much as music and went offshore fishing whenever time allowed. Paul’s creativity was unlimited. He was a superb host. His natural sunny spirit was on display any time guests came to his home. He planned menus, prepared original meals, and provided good food and good times for all who crossed his threshold. He made everyone feel welcome with his generous, gregarious personality. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Edward Korenek; and his mother, Juanita Cox Korenek; his brother-in-law, Scott Rosenbaum. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Tyler; daughter-in-law, Kelly; grandsons, Quentin and Callan; sisters, Cindy Korenek and Rhonda Dameron; brothers-in-law, Don Dameron and Drew Wilson; and many other beloved family members. Paul had a deep, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ, and he is now home with his Lord and Savior. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Family Abuse Center, a local domestic shelter.
