Paul J. Morcom March 30, 1934-September 19, 2006 Paul J. Morcom of Waco passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Hillcrest Hospital. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 22, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey with Dr. John Hogan officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey. Paul was born March 30, 1934 in Scranton, PA to Leonard and Sylvia Morcom. He served his country in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force. Paul was a self-employed contractor in residential house painting. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Paul was a southern gospel songwriter and was selected as the Song Writer of the Year for the South Texas Gospel Music Association in 2005. He was known as the Song Painter. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons Stephen Morcom and wife Shelley and Jamie Morcom; daughters Teri Ray, Brenda Morcom and Sherri Van Niel. Also surviving are three sisters, 12 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and many other dear relatives. Pallbearers will be Stephen Morcom, Lew Smith, Jerry Murphy, Dan Hetherington, Ralph Powers and Randy Krupicka. Honorary pallbearer is Chance Germany.
